UPDATED 9:01 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2025 -- One of the sedans involved in the crash had two brothers inside who work at the almond orchard next to Highway 99 where the crash occurred.

The owner of the orchard, Roque Merlo, told Action News Now that "It’s a “miracle” they survived and that seatbelts saved everyone." Merlo emphasized how happy he is that everyone survived the crash.

Merlo told Action News Now that the white car hit the black car with his workers in it, and the black car then hit the semi truck.

Nathan was told by the CHP that three vehicles were involved in the crash. There were two sedans and one big rig.
