For the first time in his three-year Broncos career, running back Jaleel McLaughlin was a healthy scratch.

McLaughlin was inactive for Sunday's opener against the Tennessee Titans at Empower Field at Mile High. That left Denver's three running backs for the game being J.K. Dobbins, RJ Harvey and Tyler Badie.

Also inactive for the Broncos were linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad), tight end Nate Adkins (ankle), outside linebacker Que Robinson, defensive end Sai’vion Jones, tackle Frank Crum. and quarterback Sam Ehlinger. Ehlinger dressed out as the emergency third quarterback.

With the Broncos going with Badie over McLaughlin as their third running back, perhaps his ability on special teams was taken into consideration. Badie had a 47-yard kickoff return in the preseason finale at New Orleans
