HAMPTON — The Clayton County Police Department is investigating a Saturday incident where a juvenile was fatally shot.

According to a Sunday afternoon CCPD press release, officers would responded to the area of Paladin Drive and Trafalgar Way, in Hampton, Saturday, Sept. 6 at about 10 p.m. regarding reports of a person shot.

The CCPD said upon arrival, officers found a juvenile male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Clayton County Police Department said the investigation remains active and ongoing.
