The classified workers strike will stretch into a third week after Evergreen Public Schools announced that school was canceled for Monday.

The district made the announcement Sunday afternoon.

Bargaining teams for both sides met Saturday and Sunday, but no agreement could be reached, extending a strike that had delayed the start of school since Aug. 26.

The union rejected the district’s “final offer” on Thursday.

On Friday, the Evergreen school board unanimously adopted a resolution to compel the district’s paraeducators, bus drivers, security and maintenance staff back to work. Tags Evergreen Public Schools
