Jasper County Sheriff Chuck Havard announced Sunday that an Evadale man had been arrested after faking a stabbing.

Havard said his department's involvement in the case began at about 11:00 on Sunday morning, when a woman called emergency dispatchers and reported that her boyfriend Dorian Harris, 37, had been stabbed in the arm and was bleeding.

Deputies and other emergency crews soon arrived at the location to find that Harris had reportedly staged the injury even using ketchup to simulate blood for a video he planned to upload to social media.

Harris was placed under arrest and transported to the Jasper County Jail where deputies were said to be asking a judge to charge him with False Report or Alarm.
