The Woodville Fire Department hosted a Level 1 training course for firefighters from surrounding area fire departments with some coming from as far away as Tarkington.

The training was made possible by the donation of vehicles from RM Engine Center and the instructors from four different equipment suppliers.

The suppliers send instructors to train firefighters at no cost, and they get to have firefighters use their equipment in the hopes of being the company that a department might turn to when they are looking to purchase new equipment.

The Woodville VFD now has three jaws on three different units and with training like Saturday’s more area firefighters are certified at level 1 to operate the jaws. The department hopes to have an advanced Level 2 course soon to continue the training an
