Many people took time out on Friday to get a good breakfast and at the same time help a great cause by taking part in the Court Appointed Special Advocates of Southeast Texas Fundraiser at Elijah's Cafe here in Jasper.

The restaurant, which is located at 201 West Gibson Street, normally doesn't serve breakfast and opens at 11:00 am each day. However, once a year the owner of the business Robbie Lovett, who is a huge supporter of CASA, allows the group to open and serve breakfast with all proceeds going to help fund the organization which cares for children in the care of the courts in Jasper and the surrounding counties.

Organizers for the event had been preparing for weeks for the event and a few local officials jumped on board and helped out, serving food or doing whatever was needed.
