EUGENE, Ore. — Zane Flores was placed in an unenviable situation on Saturday afternoon.

The Oklahoma State quarterback made his first start in a wild atmosphere at No. 4 Oregon.

After the Ducks’ 69-3 win over OSU, Oregon coach Dan Lanning said “Ultimately, this is one of our better defensive performances since we’ve been here.”

The redshirt freshman faces a bigger test over the next two weeks: Wipe that disappointment from his memory and focus on the Sept. 19 home game against Tulsa.

One thing to remember — Flores has now probably faced the toughest defense he will see all season.
