After a tough road trip in South Anchorage last week, Lathrop bounced back in a major way by laying the hammer on Chugiak, 49-21. They remain undefeated at home, scoring 30 or more points in each of their three victories this season.
“We really needed this,” said Lathrop Head Coach Luke Baylash. “We just really didn’t like the way we played well last week. We needed to execute and take care of the ball and do all those things.”
Lathrop’s first score of the game came off a pick by linebacker Bishop Andreanoff, putting them immediately inside the red zone. They capitalized on a quarterback-designed run by Luke Skinner to go up 7-0. However, the Mustangs responded quickly with a deep touchdown pass from quarterback Luke Poland to tie it up at seven apiece.
