LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A University of Louisville football player gave his mother a special tribute during the Cards’ game against James Madison.
Defensive lineman and redshirt senior Wes Bailey celebrated his sack of Dukes’ quarterback Alonza Barnett III by throwing up a heart.
The rest of the defensive line were also seen throwing up a heart.
“My mom was killed when I was five – and I have a twin sister. It’s been me, my twin and I got two older sisters,” Bailey said. “Every time I get a sack, I throw a heart up because I love my mother and my three sisters and this is for them.”
Louisville’s defense held the Dukes to 126 yards on 47 carries.
The Cards (2-0) rallied from behind to beat James Madison 28-14.
