More Woke Waste

After increasing property taxes by 40% – – – and seeking to increase the sales tax this November – – – the City of Knoxville is offering folks up to $5,000 of hard-earned tax dollars so that some folks can throw a neighborhood party, literally. Supposedly, this is for folks to “get to know” their neighbors and enjoy a heapin’ helpin’ of “community pride,” all at the expense of many of their neighbors who are working hard to keep up with rent or mortgage payments and keep food on the table and the lights on. The funds can be spent on “cookouts, community celebrations, resource fairs and neighborhood showcases,” whatever that is.
