Cha’lei Reid and Tyla Reese Mane combined for 11 of Hawaii’s 16 aces, which was one shy of tying the program record in the Rainbow Wahine’s 25-20, 25-9, 25-13 sweep of St. John’s today to win the Outrigger Invitational at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

A crowd of 3,370 was treated to UH’s shortest match of the season. It was the first time Hawaii’s match wasn’t delayed due to the length of a match before it.

Reid finished with nine kills, seven digs, six aces and hit .318. Stella Adeyemi had six of her eight kills in the first set and Bri Gunderson hit .462 with eight kills, four blocks and three aces.

Senior Tyla Reese Mane had a career-high five aces.

Hawaii hit .259 for the match while St. John’s finished at minus-.012.
