Matty Cash has suffered an injury on international duty with Poland.

The Aston Villa right back played the first half of his team’s 3-1 World Cup qualifier victory over Finland on Sunday.

Indeed the defender opened the scoring in the 27th minute, his fourth goal for his country.

However, before that Cash – and according to Przegląd Sportowy Onet - was ‘brutally tackled’ by Jere Urone, although no yellow card was shown. He needed treatment after the incident.

But the 28-year-old was substituted at half time with what has been reported as a knee to his thigh.

Speaking to Przegląd Sportowy Onet Poland manager Jan Urban said: “He suffered a severe bruise from the foul, after which he was assisted by doctors and physiotherapists.
