Leicester City prospect Will Alves scored with his first touch in League One and there are plenty of reasons to believe it will be the maiden goal of many at Huddersfield this season.
Leaving City on loan on deadline day, Alves made his league debut for the Terriers on Saturday, coming on as a second-half substitute and swinging the game in his new side’s favour.
Trailing 1-0 at the break, Alves slid in at the back post to convert a low cross for the equaliser, with his energy helping Huddersfield to eventually triumph 3-2 against Peterborough.
“We’ve had an emphasis on getting in at the back post,” Alves told BBC Radio Leeds. “That’s what I tried to do. It’s not a bad start, scoring with my first touch. Hopefully it carries on.”
