The Panthers had a franchise-record 12 rookies on their initial 53-man roster, tied for the most in the NFL (Cleveland and New England).
Rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan led the Panthers receiving corps with 68 receiving yards. This marks the third-most by a Panthers rookie in their debut, behind Muhsin Muhammad (96 yards) and Kelvin Benjamin (92). McMillan also led the Panthers with five receptions, tied for the third-most by a Carolina receiver in their debut.
Against the Jaguars, second-year receiver Xavier Legette finished with three receptions for 10 yards, which helped him surpass 50 receptions and 500 yards for his career.
