SAN ANTONIO — A man is in the hospital after he broke into his old apartment on the southeast side of town and was stabbed by the current residents, police say.

Police responded around 3 a.m. Monday on southeast military drive for reports of a stabbing.

According to officers at the scene, the current residents came home and obviously weren't happy to see a stranger inside their apartment.

Police say the people started arguing with the man, who is in his 20s, with him reportedly telling them they were not going to kick him out.

The argument soon turned physical and in the middle of the scuffle, the man got stabbed in the chest with a knife that he had pulled out.

He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but has since been stabilized.
