SAN ANTONIO — Someone was shot by police on the south side of San Antonio Monday morning, police say.
SAPD officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Dickson Avenue near SW Military Drive around 9:30 a.m. for a call about a 16-year-old boy possibly hurting himself inside a home with a knife.
Chief William McManus said the officers remained outside the home as the situation was developing.
"The individual came out the door and started walking towards the officer with two knives in his hand," said Chief McManus.
The officers continued to back up away from the teen as he advanced on them, the Chief said. That is when the teenager threw a knife at the officers. One of the officers then deployed a Taser that didn't have an effect on the teen because both contacts didn't connect. The
