A survey of 2,000 adults revealed that only 51% feel adequately educated about the dangers of a gas leak, and just 48% are confident they could shut off their main gas supply if necessary. A mere 29% of those who have ever had to identify and deal with a carbon monoxide leak felt assured in doing so. ‌

The study also found that less than half (47%) have ever installed a carbon monoxide alarm to warn them of this hazardous substance in their homes. ‌
