ORCHARD PARK - Late last week, Matt Prater was helping to coach his son Pax’s youth football team back home in Arizona, wondering if, at 41 years old, he had kicked his last NFL field goal.

“I was working out, coaching the kids in football, and honestly, just being a full-time dad,” said the Buffalo Bills placekicker for the moment. “When the kids go to school, I’d be dropping them off in the morning - that was my favorite is drop off - and then I would do pickup. And then they’re in activities – dance, gymnastics, football, so I just loved being involved in all that stuff.”

Sounds like fun, but given Prater’s chosen profession, one that he has been at for 18 NFL seasons, what happened Sunday night might have been just a little more enjoyable.
