JAMES CITY — A warning phase for James City County’s speed enforcement camera program will begin today.
The program will launch the 30-day warning period in seven school zones: Stonehouse Elementary, Clara Byrd Baker Elementary, Toano Middle, D.J. Montague Elementary, James River Elementary, Lafayette High and Norge Elementary. During the period, those suspected of speeding will receive a warning in the mail marked in red that shows the violation that occurred with the date and time. These warnings will not carry fines, but will serve as a reminder to slow down, James City County police said.
