HARLEM, Mont. - Harlem Public Schools will be implementing new security measures and increased police presence on campus after multiple reports last week of a student possessing a gun at school.

Superintendent John C. McGee announced the incident and new protocols in a letter to parents on social media.

"The school administration was made aware of a potential threat of a student possessing a gun on the Harlem School campus," McGee said. "At least three students reported to a trusted adult having seen a fellow student possessing a handgun."

McGee said that the district is in full cooperation with law enforcement, and ensuring the safety of students is top priority.
