Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse commit Calvin Russell III has been placed in a walking boot.

The five-star wide receiver took to his Instagram story Monday morning, posting himself with a walking boot on his right foot.

Miami Northwestern last played Thursday, defeating Carol City, 37-6. It’s unclear how or when the injury occurred, as is the severity of the injury.

Russell committed to Syracuse in May. His agent told syracuse.com | The Post-Standard that Russell’s recruitment is closed. However, Miami has remained persistent in its attempt to flip Russell.

The Hurricanes hosted Russell for their season-opening win against No. 8 Notre Dame.

Russell’s agent could not be reached for comment.
