An unfortunate tragedy unfolded in New Jersey this past weekend. Toraya Reid, the sister of Minnesota Timberwolves forward Naz Reid, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office reported that Reid was fatally shot on Saturday morning (Sept. 6). Court documents revealed that police were called to the scene around 11 a.m. and found her “laying near the exit” of the Paragon Apartment Complex in Jackson Township, N.J.; Reid was unresponsive and had multiple gunshot wounds.

The suspect, 29-year-old Shaquille Green, was spotted fleeing the scene of the crime on foot. The authorities later caught him as he ran on North Prospect Road and took him into custody. Green was charged with murder and multiple weapons violations. “A subsequent investigation b
