CANYON, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) - West Texas A&M University announced two of its faculty members, Dr. Benton Allen and Dr. Audrey Meador, were named to endowed professorships in its College of Engineering at the start of the fall semester.
Allen, who joined the faculty in 2024, was named the new Bell Professor of Engineering. Meador, who joined the faculty in 2012, was named the new Clair Mayes Professor of Mathematics.
As described by WT officials, the College of Engineering offers programs in mechanical, civil, electrical and environmental engineering as well as engineering technology, mathematics and computer science. It employs 43 faculty members.
Both Allen and Meador have made significant impacts on the college, according to its dean, Dr. Emily Hunt.
"Dr. Allen’s teaching is innovative
