RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - KOLO 8’s very own Ed Pearce received honors down in Las Vegas when the Nevada Broadcasters Association awarded him their highest honor, a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Ed Pearce is Nevada through and through.

He was born in the town of Lovelock, the family moved to Winnemucca, then Battle Mountain, and finally Fallon. All communities these days many Nevadans can’t locate on a map.

But it was this upbringing that shaped Ed Pearce’s perspective and love of Nevada. He was there for many of the “firsts”. A first live radio broadcast from the Fallon Municipal Airport. He was a teen disc jockey at 15. He has a degree in Journalism from UNR. He interned at KOLO. He also served in the Nevada Air Guard.
