DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A worker was injured Monday morning when an electrical panel, possibly tampered with during a robbery attempt, sparked into his face and caused a fire at a DeKalb County warehouse.

It happened at the Lithonia Industrial Blvd. address for Atlanta Winsupply, a fire safety parts and sprinkler supplier.

Fire officials told 11Alive that crews were dispatched to the warehouse but did not encounter much fire. It appeared that there was an attempted robbery overnight at the business and that an electrical panel had been tampered with.

When the worker arrived early Monday morning, the panel blew up in his face. His condition was not known.

DeKalb Police was said to be investigating the robbery side of the incident. Fire officials did not know if anything had been taken.
