Laurentian Voyageurs cross-country standouts Keon Wallingford and Abby Lanteigne got their season started on the right foot this past weekend with gold medals at the Laurentian Open, held on their home campus in Sudbury.
Laurentian’s cross-country team opened the OUA regular season with the 48th annual Ramsey Tour, a five-kilometre event hosted by the Sudbury Masters Running Club which doubles as the Laurentian Open.
The Vees squared off against their Northern OUA university rivals, Nipissing and Algoma, with Cambrian College also competing at the event.
On the men’s side, the Vees were just two points shy of a perfect team score, as LU’s five scoring runners placed first, second, third, fifth and sixth for a total of 17 points.
Nipissing University placed second with 40 points, with A
