SAN MARCOS — San Marcos High School’s girls volleyball roster includes a freshman and a sophomore at the libero spot, both of whom are new to the varsity level.
They play behind one of the top and most competitive liberos in San Diego, the University of Hawaii-bound Cam Holcomb.
It would be easy for Addison Mulder and Addilyn Burrup to be intimidated by their accomplished teammate. Yet, on Day 1 of practice in August and every day since, those nerves have been squashed.
Holcomb is one who shows every player what their platform should look like in passing drills. A second-year captain, she’s dialed in for every practice and every match.
“She’s so competitive in every aspect of her life, but at the same time, she just wants to show everyone else how to be better,” San Marcos coach Sherry
