Authorities sought the public’s help Monday in their search for an assailant who carried out a shooting in Coachella that killed a 17-year-old boy and critically injured two other people.
At 3:45 a.m. Aug. 2, deputies responded to a call in the 49000 block of Corte Molino regarding an assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
According to Sgt. Mike Kelleher, deputies arrived at the scene and encountered three juvenile males suffering from gunshot wounds.
Despite life saving measures from deputies and paramedics, a 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene and the two other victims were taken to a hospital. The victim who died was identified as Alberto Castillo Jr. of Coachella.
No arrests were made, and there was no suspect information
