HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WETM) — Pumpkin spice and everything nice, but what about pumpkin chucking?

Registration has opened for a unique fall contest that's being held for the first time in Chemung County, as announced in a release from the Chemung County Executive's Office. A pumpkin chucking contest is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Chemung County Fairgrounds, located at 170 Fairview Rd, Horseheads, the release explained.

Teams are invited to compete in the contest by crafting up their best pumpkin-launching device to achieve the best accuracy and distance amongst the other teams competing, the release said.
