The 49ers Faithful took a deep sigh of relief after star edge rusher Nick Bosa sealed a Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks with a game-winning fumble recovery late in regulation.
Coach Kyle Shanahan , probably more than most, was relieved to know San Francisco would survive the injury-riddled gauntlet at Lumen Field and live to enter Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season with a 1-0 record.
The ninth-year 49ers play-caller shared his entertaining reaction and sense of relief regarding Bosa’s clutch play with reporters postgame.
“I took a breath,” Shanahan said. “I was relieved. [I] was pumped up. Then, I [had] to look out for all the big guys who tried to knock me out on the sideline celebrating after that. They always get much more aggressive than me.
“But I was pumped.”
