PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - A Pike County man is now in custody, charged with murder.

Brandon Blackburn, 44, of Pikeville, was arrested Monday and charged with murder, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and being a persistent felony offender.

According to an arrest citation, the charges are tied to a warrant filed Aug. 28 in Pike County.

A trooper located Blackburn just before 11 a.m. Monday and took him to the Pike County Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police has not yet released the details of the murder, but Public Affairs Officer, Trooper Michael Coleman, said more details will be available soon.
