LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - Pumpkins, plaid, and pictures, it’s time to take fall photos. However, there are a few things to keep in mind before setting up your family photos.

When you’re a mom coordinating a family portrait, standing in front of a closet can be pretty intimidating. We spoke to a professional photographer to learn how to make it as easy as possible.

“I shoot mainly earth tones, so I go for the mustards, oranges, and greens. It pops in the photos. That’s what you’re going to mainly go for, and especially for fall because that’s the golden hour,” Photographer Alana Brown said.

Brown said color coordination is important for the whole family. She even helps families by preparing a style guide.
