NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Saints opened their season with a familiar struggle on offense, falling 20-13 to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday inside the Caesars Superdome.
Running back Alvin Kamara provided the team’s lone highlight early in the second quarter, breaking off an 18-yard touchdown run on third-and-three to give New Orleans a brief 7-3 lead.
The score marked the 1,000th touchdown scored in the Superdome in Saints history. For Kamara, it was his 87th career touchdown, tying him with Pro Football Hall of Famer Lance Alworth for 53rd place on the NFL’s all-time list.
Kamara finished with 11 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown, adding two catches for 12 yards.
