WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary announced it will test its emergency notification system on Wednesday, Sept. 10.
The drill, scheduled for 12:15 p.m., will include a test of both the campus-wide siren and mass notification messaging systems.
According to William & Mary, the siren system includes nine sirens with 400-watt speakers stationed across campus and featuring a PA system functionality, and anyone near campus is also likely to hear them. In the event of an emergency, community members who hear the siren may check for information and instructions at wm.edu/alert .
Members of the local community can also follow emergency news through the William & Mary News Facebook and X pages as well as the free W&M mobile app . the university said.
