Police say they have made an arrest after a search for an armed man in West Lincoln.

On social media Monday morning, Niagara Regional Police said they were looking for a white 2009 Ford Ranger with the licence plate 9475 FT, driven by a man in the area of Concession Road 2 and Centre Road.

Police later said the man was armed and is believed to be on foot. Residents were being asked to shelter in place, lock doors and vehicles, and not answer their door.

Later Monday, police sent out an update saying the man has been arrested. More information will be released later, police said.
