A driver who chased another motorist and struck a police vehicle Monday in Raisinville Township is in custody, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said.

A 31-year-old driver from Lambertville was reported chasing another vehicle on Lewis Avenue near Ida West Road around 3 a.m., sheriff's officials said in a release.

The man was driving a blue 2022 Chevrolet Silverado with a 31-year-old woman and three children aged 12, 6 and 4, according to the statement.

After chasing a vehicle, police attempted to perform a traffic stop when the Silverado fled south on Lewis, the sheriff's office said.

"At one point the fleeing vehicle came to a stop, but then performed a U-Turn, and began to ram into the patrol vehicle before continuing south on Lewis Avenue," investigators wrote. "The vehicle contin
