DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WXIX) - A 77-year-old man is under arrest on a murder charge after his girlfriend died at a Deerfield Township fire station over the weekend.

It happened Sunday afternoon at the township’s Fire Station 57 on U.S. Route 22, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the firehouse, sheriff’s officials say.

Deputies detained a person of interest who was at the scene.

They later identified him as Gerald Olin Finley of Loveland and booked him into the Warren County Jail by 8:11 p.m.

In addition to the murder charge, he also faces one count of felonious assault.
