A grocery store seemingly running from a garage in Wright has its owner and some local residents at loggerheads over the legitimacy of the business and its constant customer traffic on a residential street.

While a resident described it as a "disruption to the community," the owner claims it is a "legal home-based business."

The store in the spotlight is Kerala Spices Indian Groceries on Porter Street, which has been operating from the garage of a residential home since 2023.

Racks of food items and refrigerators with frozen goods are squeezed into a single-car garage, where trade is conducted during business hours. The only display advertising for the business, which is said to have a strong customer base, is an A-shaped board on the street.
