Woman arrested on a drug charge during a traffic stop

Jasper Police arrested a woman on a drug charge Friday afternoon during a traffic stop.

According to the report, 29-year-old April Istre was pulled over for an expired registration, and after suspicious behavior a K-9was brought to the scene and alerted to the smell of drugs.

The report said syringes were found in Istre’s purse, and methamphetamine was found in the center console of the car.

Istre was taken to the Jasper County Jail and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
