Two drivers who each won more than half of their feature races at Merrittville Speedway this season are among the 2025 points champions at the Thorold track.

Ending the clay track’s 74th season with the highest winning percentage is Cody McPherson, a multiple-time points champion from St. Catharines in the Sportsman class. This year, he raced to 14 victories in 18 starts, taking home checkered flags at a remarkable 77.8-per-cent clip and the track title for the fifth year in a row.

On Saturday night, McPherson ended the season at his hometown track on a winning note by leading Brett Senek, Tyler Puchalski, Curtis Friesen, and Noah Mamo across the finish line on the final regular race program of the year.
