Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse’s offensive line has proven to be a weak unit.

It has allowed eight sacks, two of which resulted in lost Steve Angeli fumbles. After two weeks of play, Fran Brown is getting fed up.

The Orange has a pass-blocking grade of 65, according to Pro Football Focus, and the run blocking (60.7) has graded out even worse.

It got more difficult up front against Connecticut when Syracuse was forced to start backup Naquil Betrand at left tackle in the wake of Trevion Mack’s foot injury. Betrand was eventually benched for backup center Joshua Miller on Saturday.

With one game remaining until conference play, Brown is looking for answers.

“We’re getting our quarterback killed out there,” Brown said during his Monday press conference. “That’s not cool. It’s not cool at all.”
