PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man was critically injured after being shocked while working on a rooftop in Tempe on Monday morning.

Just after 11 a.m., Tempe Fire crews responded to a commercial building near McClintock Drive and University Drive for an elevated rescue after a man was working on a rooftop air conditioning unit when he was shocked.

Firefighters wrapped the nonambulatory man up and used a ladder truck to get him off the roof before transporting him to the hospital.

“They were still providing advanced lifecare when they left here,” Tempe Fire Department spokesperson Anthony Butch said. “I don’t know the exact status of where his condition is at this point.”
