A body was found Sept. 8 on Camelback Mountain.

Crews were dispatched to the Echo Canyon Trail for a mountain rescue, but the operation became a body recovery, said Cpt. Megan Tranter, a Phoenix Fire Department spokesperson. A dead person was found off the trail, she said.

Phoenix police were on scene for a death investigation along with the Fire Department's drone team.
