COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - A Midlands man is facing an attempted murder charge after a reported stabbing over the weekend.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said 36-year-old Eddie Chaney was arrested Saturday after an incident on Lake Carolina Drive.

An incident report from RCSD states Chaney met deputies outside the home when they arrived. Deputies noted he had cuts on his right thumb and index finger, while his clothes were covered in blood. Deputies then detained him and placed him into a patrol vehicle.

RCSD said a victim was also found inside the home with multiple stab wounds. They were taken to a hospital and treated for their injuries. Autohires said the stabbing occurred after a verbal altercation escalated between Chaney and the victim, who lived together.
