A now-exiled Sydney crime boss offered $1 million to have a rival killed at the height of the city's underworld war in 2021, a jury has been told.
Alameddine family patriarch Rafat Alameddine made the offer while his network was involved in tit-for-tat shootings with the Hamzys in 2021, a court heard.
The court has heard the Alameddine and Hamzy families operate organised crime networks in Western Sydney who police believe are heavily involved in drug supply.
At the time the families were locked in a dispute that saw several public acts of violence committed over 18 months.
Mr Alameddine is alleged by police to be at the head of the organised crime clan bearing his last name.
