Laura Jackel and her family were given less than an hour to grab what they could and get out of their New South Wales home when the ground beneath it started to give way earlier this year.
Theirs was one of 16 houses affected by a landslip in the Newcastle suburb of New Lambton in May.
"It basically feels like our lives have been blown up," Ms Jackel said.
In the four months since wild weather swept through the Hunter Valley and the Mid North Coast , affected residents watched on as looters targeted their homes and geotechnical assessments stalled.
Ms Jackel said many residents felt they had been left in limbo and had struggled to get information about what was happening with their homes.
"We were all feeling frustrated because we hadn't seen people working there," she said.
"Tha
