(NewsNation) — More than 90,000 Jeeps have been recalled due to a potential loss of drive power, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Citing increased risk of crashes, Chrysler is recalling 91,787 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrid Electric vehicles with model years of 2022 through 2026.
The recall notice says a software error within the hybrid control processor may result in a loss of drive power without warning.
While the remedy remains under development, owners are expected to be mailed notification letters by Oct. 23.
Jeep is aware of 23 total known instances of this issue occurring, but it is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to it.
