A Miami-Dade woman who made national headlines after mysteriously becoming pregnant while behind bars has been denied her request to have a murder charge dropped.

Daisy Link is facing second-degree murder charges for the 2022 shooting death of her husband , Pedro Jimenez. She argues she was the victim of domestic violence, feared for her life, and killed in self-defense.

In court records, Link described her marriage as “tumultuous,” filled with physical abuse. Her attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the case under Florida’s “stand your ground” law.

But on Monday, Judge Lody Jean denied the request, pointing to several pieces of evidence, including 911 calls, body camera recordings, and especially Ring camera video from the night of the shooting.
