NEW YORK (PIX11) -- If you own a Jeep Grand Cherokee, your vehicle may be one of thousands included in a safety recall by Chrysler.

The recall involves around 91,787 Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in models manufactured between 2022 and 2026, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall is due to software errors that may result in a sudden loss of power, which could potentially lead to a crash. The NHTSA estimates that one percent of the total vehicles may have the defect.

A remedy is currently under development, according to the NHTSA.

Dealers are expected to be notified about the recalls on Sept. 11. Letters to Jeep owners impacted are expected to be sent out on Oct. 23 and 24.

The NHTSA reports that impacted VIN numbers can be searched beginning on Sept. 11
